Wow! That’s how I’d describe this years Oktoberfest. It was the 4th year of the event and my first time attending as well as working at the event. I was thrown in at the end of this planning process, that in itself was thrilling yet challenging. This year Oktoberfest supported the local Lions Club and collected reading glasses to those who are in need.

Oktoberfest is a great event that is family friendly yet allows adults to let loose in the evening. I was amazed at how many people attended this year, 2500 more than last year. So many great businesses came out to show what they are all about.

Entertainment was a great hit all day long. Polka music filled the park in the early hours that families could sit and enjoy, there were costume contests, yodeling and local bands. How can you not forget the brat-eating contest? With about 21 contestants the winner ate a total of eight bratwurst! Sugar Thieves were the main event in the evening and they attracted a great crowd that many people looked forward to from last year.

Oh, and beer! Can’t forget about the beer. There were so many options of beer and ciders available that everyone could find something of their liking.

Have you ever wondered how many people you can fit in a Volkswagen Bug? Well we found out, a grand total of 18!

This years Oktoberfest proved to be successful and enjoyed by everyone who came.
