Well, Thursday, June 7 was my first official hands-on day with Peak Events! After a delicious lunch and picking up the party cake, Deb and I headed out to Fort Tuthill just south of Flagstaff to start setting up for a graduation party.
Despite some hiccups (the caterer was late, the number of balloons we had far outnumbered the amount of helium we had to fill them, and decorating supplies were few) we had a blast putting everything together. The people at Fort Tuthill were incredibly helpful, moving BBQs out of the way, wiping down tables and just generally doing everything they could to help us out. Deb spent most of her time filling the balloons and tying them (not nearly as easy of a task as it sounds!) while I played the role of “balloon holder” until we realized she could just put them inside…
In the end we had an appealing arrangement of red tablecloths and balloons and grad ware decorating Fort Tuthill inside and out. As Deb and I prepared to go, our job of setting up complete, a Mariachi band appeared, a boy DJ and guests of all ages poured through the doors ready to chow down Mexican style! I’m only sorry I didn’t get to stay and snag some food for myself!
Can’t wait for the next event!
Have a lovely week,
Michelle
