We are almost 20 weeks out from the First Annual Flagstaff Blues and Brews and everyone at Peak Events is working to make this the best festival we’ve ever produced! It’s hard to imagine that with over 10 inches of snow this weekend and another 2-4 expected today and tonight, that in less than 20 weeks we will be sitting outside in the warm sun drinking beer and listening to the blues. My business partner asked me to start writing a blog for the Blues Festival and honestly I didn’t know where to start, so I decided to start at the beginning. What would cause a somewhat sane person decide that they needed to bring a destination festival to Flagstaff?
I wanted to bring the Blues and Brews to Flagstaff for one reason and one reason only. I LOVE THE BLUES!!!! No, I REALLY like the Blues. I love the history, I love the connection it has to so many other genres of music. It speaks to my soul, it makes me smile, it makes me cry and it makes my heart sing. Now, I enjoy many genres of music, in fact while watching the Grammys last night, it was pretty obvious that I follow many genres of music and I was surprised how many winners I predicted. Music to me is one of the gifts that make life special.
So, this year’s festival will have musical acts that are fantastic, food from a variety of vendors and of course a wide variety of beers!
