I was so excited that it was this time of the year again, it was time for another Oktoberfest. I was so excited to work at Oktoberfest again this year because I loved it so much last year. I looked forward to be in the center of attention at ticket sales compared to volunteers last year. Volunteers was a great place to work at for my first event, which is was I was excited to do something a little more challenging this time around. I was excited to be doing something that was more fast paced and to be the first face people experience when they came to Oktoberfest. I was nervous in the beginning because I knew that ticket sales was going to be a lot of work and was a big responsibility. I asked Jennifer a lot of question so I would be able to expect anything and knew exactly what would be going on. It also helped that we had a past intern who has done ticket sales multiple times to be with us on the day of the event. On the day of Oktoberfest we go everything set up and made sure that we would have everything that we would need at our station. Once we got closer to the event, volunteers began to show up and we were able to tell them what they would be doing for their shift. Once the event started ticket sale was no stop all day. We constantlty had people wanting to buy tickets whether it was a few people or a giant line. Ticket sales was definitely stressful throughout the day, but it was a super fun place to work at because the day went by so fast. Even though I did not have a useful brain at the end of the day I would definitely do ticket sales again because I learned so many skills that I will need while working in the hospitality industry. Ticket sales was a great experience and it was a great location to watch people at too. Oktoberfest is such a fun event and I love the whole atmosphere of it. I had a blast at this year’s Oktoberfest and I already can’t wait for Oktoberfest next year!
