The Flagstaff Oktoberfest will celebrate its 8thyear of family fun in Wheeler Park October 1st. Gates will open at 11 am. Our event will include the ever popular Grand Canyon Railway kid’s area complete with a root beer garden offering free root beer floats for kids as long as the root beer lasts After a float, why not let them play in the bounce houses or get creative with some arts and crafts?! Want to get a little more involved? Then sign up for one of the many contests to win some fabulous prizes. Can you yodel? We have you covered and welcome all to display your talents. Want to dress in authentic German costume? There’s a contest for that, too! Are you buff and brawn? Sign up for the Beer Stein holding contest. Can you eat your weight in brats? Satchmos will once again host the brat eating contest and even if you don’t participate – it’s a crowd favorite. How cold can you go? Snowbowl Ski Area returns to host the Frozen t-shirt contest, and for those who long for “the good ol’ days”, Findlay Volkswagen will be on hand to see how many people they can stuff into a VW bug, trying to beat last year’s record of 24.

What else is at the Flagstaff Oktoberfest, you ask? Well, how about the largest selection of cold beer of any Northern Arizona Oktoberfest, as well as wine and cider. To go along with your thirst, there will be 7 food vendors ready to serve you up a variety of eats! Feel like putting on your dancing shoes and listening to some Polka or maybe even one of our great cover bands, then be ready to cut a rug (or grass) and enjoy the music!
