Being able to work Oktoberfest was one of the most fun days of my life. From setting up to cleaning up, the whole day(s) was such a learning experience and I am so glad I got to help Debbi and Jennifer out with this event! With all the planning we did, it was so incredible to see Oktoberfest run successfully.
I was placed at the information booth, which happened to be right next to the stage. This meant that I got to sign people up for contests, and I also got to help Debbi and Jennifer run the contests and give out prizes! I also decided to go and recruit people for some last minute contest entries. The amount of times I said “I feel like you want to enter a Brat eating contest” is pretty hilarious, but hey it worked! The energy around my table was so exciting; I loved being right at the heart of the festival. However, I know that next festival I won’t be at the information booth, but I think that’s a good thing because then I’ll continue to learn how the different areas of a festival work.
I’m so glad that Oktoberfest was the first festival I worked with Peak Events, overall I had such a fun day and I learned so much!
