Thank you for an amazing 2013 Flagstaff Oktoberfest! I am still smiling from all the fun and seeing so many wonderful people enjoy our festival. Where do I begin? A great big DANKE to all the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, staff, musical acts and our fabulous emcee Rick Krug who kept the day fun and lively. Another big DANKE to all of you who attended our 5th Flagstaff Oktoberfest! Because of all of you who attended, we were able to raise over $7,000 for the Flagstaff Alpine Ski and Snowboard Team! I have to say, when Jen and I handed that check over to Lynda Fleisher the Executive Director of FASST, her reaction was worth all the hard work that went into this year’s festival. She told us that they receive over 150 scholarship requests and this money will help them fill those requests.
I love the business Jennifer and I have created. We get to do what we love and support the community while doing it!
So, now we start on next year! Yep – Jen and I have read the surveys and are now starting to plan next year. That’s what we do! We’re now looking at how other Oktoberfests run and see if there might be an idea that would work in Flagstaff. We’re looking for German vendors for next year, hopefully we can find a German Food vendor, a few German craft vendors and you never know what new contests we might find or think up!
So, with only 51 more weeks until the next Flagstaff Oktoberfest, I thank all of you who attended, all of you who supported us, and all of you who had other plans, but was bummed you missed the festival – we’ll see you all next year!
