Weddings in Sedona. What else can you say? You’re surrounded by the most beautiful scenery in the world, you’re standing on top of a mountain overlooking all the beauty of Sedona and the man you’ve loved for the last nine years is beside you promising to love you forever. Seriously, how does it get any better?
Last month I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding at the Sky Ranch Lodge in Sedona and all I can say is WOW, what a wonderful venue. What an unbelievably wonderful venue! What most brides don’t realize is that Sedona is only 28 miles from Flagstaff and so to plan a wedding in Sedona is easy and sometimes a money saver for brides looking for a destination wedding. When brides chose Peak Events to do a wedding in Sedona, it’s usually because we aren’t buying into the “resort” lifestyle and don’t feel the need price our services accordingly. When I’m approached for a wedding, I don’t look at a bride and groom and see dollar signs, I see two people that need help on that special day. I think that’s one of the reasons I fall in love with all my couples. I’ve yet to plan a wedding where I’m not teary eyed as the bride walks down the aisle. Each couple is different and the quirks and traditions of each one is what makes this job so wonderful!
Wendy made the most stunning bride and she and Jon decided to have a “first peek” photo shoot before everyone started arriving. I’m pretty sure Jon’s heart not only skipped one beat, but several as he turned around and saw his beautiful bride. The sunset shots from after the ceremony were so stunning that I plan on having one blown up and on display at the office. Working with Melissa Dunstan and her assistant on pictures was so much fun because I could tell Melissa was enjoying the spectacular beauty of Sky Ranch, along with the unreal views and the added clouds made for a sunset that the movies only dream of copying.
Wendy and Jon were from Las Vegas and this was a destination wedding. The day I met them, they were on their way to Sedona to pick out the location. I only saw them again once, working mainly through emails and phone calls. When it was said and done we had the opportunity to work with some great vendors that made the event even more fun and between both Wendy’s sister and Jon’s sister I was laughing the entire day. Weddings are so special and I am so glad we were the ones they chose to make this day come together. Another beautiful destination wedding working with great people to give two people their dream day, I am truly blessed.
