Isn’t it amazing how a new year can change your perspective?   I mean seriously, you wake up on January 1st and the possibilities seem endless!   That’s how I feel about Mountain Country Music Festival.   Okay – I know, those of you who came know it was so much more than you expected, but in my book it was a first year festival that I had to curb my imagination because let’s face it – you lose your ass on first year events!   Ask any event planner and they will tell you – the first year is the hardest!   And for me, this was one of the hardest events I’ve ever produced I think because of the expectations.

However, it is now January 2015 and it’s a new day, new month, new year and I am feeling pretty good about the talent we’re going to bring in and a few more surprises that I think everyone will enjoy.   We got so many great suggestions for this year’s festival and while some of them aren’t feasible – like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert sharing a stage (however, I do play the lottery), others were ideas that we looked at and said “We can do that!”

One thing that won’t change will be our charity.   The Military Order of the Purple Heart and helping out our veterans with PTSD and homelessness will continue.
