Recently I had the awesome opportunity to work at the Flagstaff Small Business Health Care Fair. This was the 6th year they held this event at the Aquaplex on Fourth Street. It was a very successful event that had about 450 people show up. They had recyclable tote bags that were given to everyone at the event, and also a punch card that enabled them to go to the different tables and learn about the product they were advertising. Each table they visited, they received a sticker for their card and once they reached 20 stickers they could be entered in to win a prize. The prizes consisted of a bike, a kindle, and a fitbit. The event ran from 7 am to about 1 pm. After the event was over, we had a team that cleaned up the event and it was very quick because there were so many willing volunteers! I think the volunteers at an event are one of the most important components. It allows the event to run a lot more smoothly and successfully. Finding volunteers is a difficult task, but reaching out to the community for help is one of the best ways to receive them. Being in the community of Flagstaff is such a cool thing, because so many people are willing to be apart of something so great. With Blues and Brews coming up, we are relying heavily on the community of Flagstaff to be apart of the great event. The weeks are flying by and the day is just around the corner! I think the coolest thing about attending other events before ours is the fact that we have so many great things in store for Blues and Brews and it’s fun to get ready for it!
